This sounds great. But how do you handle the need to update these links as content ages or as better and more appropriate content comes online?

There are several ways that help us keep each WisdomCard up to date and the links current.
First, each WisdomCard in our system goes through an extensive review process. They are created by guides, reviewed by at least two editors, and then by our physician reviewers. Once a WisdomCard is published they are continually reviewed and updated by the guides and reviewers who created the WisdomCard. Additionally, the community helps by suggesting additional links, reporting issues, or discussing the WisdomCard using our message board system. And because each WisdomCard has a last reviewed date on it, it is easy to see when it was last updated. This allows us to quickly see which WisdomCards need to be checked again...
Curating the web is a process that is time consuming. However, this creates tremendous value for our visitors. And the power of social media and collaboration tools like the MediaWiki platform enable us to keep the content fresh and up to date.
